Razer announces the Viper 8Khz, a gaming mouse that breaks all speed records

Razer, one of the world leaders in PC gaming hardware, has just announced the launch of its proprietary Razer HyperPolling technology, which can be seen with its brand new Viper 8 KHz mouse. It is an ambidextrous gaming mouse, which as its name suggests has a polling rate of 8000 Hz.

8 times faster gaming mouse

For a long time, the manufacturers of gaming mice clashed in the field of the sensitivity of the sensors, by proposing models more and more powerful, going up to reach values as high as 20000 dpi (where the common man is satisfied with 1600 dpi). Today, Razer is changing its mind and tackling the polling rate, which represents the speed of transmission / reception of data between the mouse and the PC. Until then, most gamer mouse had a polling rate of 1000 Hz, which corresponds to a reactivity of 1 ms. In itself, this already made it possible to reproduce the movements of the mouse on the screen without noticeable latency for the common players with a standard screen.

With its HyperPolling technology, Razer allows its new mouse to achieve a polling rate of 8000 Hz, which corresponds to a reactivity of 0,25 ms! In other words, it is the mouse that offers the lowest latency that we have ever seen on this type of material. The goal is to be able to better adapt to the new refresh rates of current screens (144 Hz is becoming more democratic, and there are even more and more 240 and 360 Hz screens), so that the movement of the cursor remains very fluid. . And when it comes to traditional dpi, the Viper 8Khz is not left out since the sensitivity setting can reach a maximum of 20000 dpi.

High-end performance and finishes

With the Razer Viper 8khz, revolutionary HyperPolling technology is embedded in an ergonomic and ambidextrous chassis, which weighs barely 71 grams. This lightness coupled with the excellent grip allows very good maneuverability of the mouse, which will delight both right-handed and left-handed players.

In addition, the Viper 8Khz is equipped with large PTFE pads which ensure an impeccable glide, even on textile surfaces. Purists may regret the presence of a cable, at a time when wireless mice are on the rise. But rest assured, this one knows how to be forgotten thanks to its very flexible Speedflex sheath!

Finally, the mouse has 8 programmable buttons. As usual with Razer, these are customizable with Synapse 3 software, which allows each button to be assigned a shortcut or macro.

With such cutting edge features, Razer is targeting an esports audience, looking for the highest possible responsiveness. A high-end positioning which comes with a substantial price, since the Viper 8Hz has been available since the first quarter of 2021 at the public price of € 89,99.
