Google PageRank: it's over!

Google's PageRank indicator has been discontinued. This score mainly assessed the number of external links (backlinks) that a page benefits from. From now on, the quality (and no longer the number alone) of the links counts more than anything.

2015 will be done without PageRank, Google's historical indicator that measured the popularity of web pages. SEOs and web professionals had already abandoned it for several months. Mainly based on the number of links that point to a page, this indicator had become less and less essential in all the ranking criteria. It no longer reflected the reality of Google results pages.

With the end of its update, formalized at the very end of 2014 by John Mueller, spokesperson for Google, the engine definitively confirms abandoning a quantitative view of the popularity of a web page.

The place given to the quality of links is on the other hand increasing in the classification system. Among the indicators SEO which allow you to evaluate the quality of a page, those of Moz are the most reliable: Domain Authority, Moz Rank, Trust Rank, External Equity Links ...

Just one rule for getting better rankings in Google: get quality links. This is the best way to promote your content and get credit in the eyes of Google.
