Fall Guys developer Mediatonic made a hell of a mistake during an accidental update to Steam Today, managing to leak the source code of the games.
After having been Point by SteamDB creator Pavel Djundik, it seems that the offending update didn't last long, it was removed very soon after, but it's entirely possible that someone was able to download and retrieve it quickly a copy.
All files - and that was a lot of files - that were added in this update were marked with a warning that really should have been heeded "BackUpThisFolder_ButDontShipItWithYourGame".
According to the Unity manual, this set of files are meant to help you debug your game, but as you might expect from the name, the manual says, "You should save this folder for every build you ship, but do not redistribute it. "
If people got their hands on this source code as of this update, there's a good chance it will make the cheating issues Fall Guys face worse. Hackers with their hands on the code would have a much easier job of spoiling everyone's fun, but hopefully Mediatonic can fight this if that's a problem.
The Fall guys leaked their game code in the latest Steam update by shipping the il2cpp code.
