How to turn off a PS4 controller

And anyone who hasn't yet upgraded to the next-gen PS5 can still use the PS4, alongside the PS4 controller. While not as intuitive as the DualSense controllers that came with Sony's latest console, PS4 controllers are sturdy and reliable.
However, one of the most annoying aspects of a game controller can be how quickly it drains battery, which can be detrimental in a boss battle. To help preserve as much battery life as possible, we recommend turning off your controllers when not in use and charging them when your PS4 notifies you that they are on their last stage.

The PS button is located in the middle of the controller, between the two analog sticks. Hold this button for about 10 seconds to turn it off completely. We recommend storing the PS4 controller once it is no longer in use, because clicking the PS button again while it is turned off will turn the controller back on.
