Google now offers a tool to disavow links that could penalize a site. These are all those links whose sole purpose is to trick Google into getting a better place.

What are they ? Paid links, spam of all kinds (blogs and comments, guestbook, forum…), rigged profiles…

You can ask Google to ignore these links. A very practical tool, but to be used sparingly. Indeed, it is intended primarily for those who have used spam-type methods to promote their site (automatically generated backlinks for example). It will also be useful for those who want to disavow rotten and malicious links that they have identified to their site.

On the other hand, if from the beginning, you follow the google recommendations, then you don't need to disavow these "bad" links, which probably don't exist. It just goes to show that white-hat practices still have a bright future ...
