Amazon's homemade Fire TVs are coming to the UK

Amazon launched its Fire TV Omni QLED TV series in the UK for the first time, following the US launch last year.

The Amazon-built Omni QLED set, which includes 4K Ultra HD visuals with HDR 10+, Dolby Vision IQ and HFG, will be available in four screen sizes of 43-inches, 50-inches, 55-inches and 65-inches. . Prices start at a rather reasonable £549 and you can save a few more pounds with the promotional price.

Fire TV users will recognize the smart interface and Alexa connectivity, while the new Omni sets also feature customizable Alexa widgets that provide access to smart home devices, entertainment recommendations and more.

There's also Amazon's Ambient Experience which shows artwork when you're not watching TV, although we can't really recommend doing so given the price of electricity at the moment. Users will be able to set Alexa routines, while accessing the wide range of voice skills. Privacy settings will also allow you to manually disconnect the far-field microphone.

As well as the Omni series, Amazon is also launching cheaper models, with the 4 and 2 series starting at £429 and £249 respectively. The Series 4 (below) and Series 2 models will join the 65-inch Omni model on sale April 12. The rest of the Omni series will arrive on June 1.

The 65-inch model is £300 off during the promotional period, while the other models are 30 per cent off. We suspect Amazon will sell a boatload of them given the reasonable price and user familiarity with Fire TV devices.
